The top dogs at our CoffeeDog® headquarter have been wondering why a brilliant cup of coffee has not been taking the center stage as the drink for the holidays such as Christmas and New Year. This really puzzles me.

Have you ever said “cheers” over a cup of coffee? Toasting for a victory over a cup of coffee? Or kanpai-ing a shot of espresso? Maybe not yet. But with the below coffee liqueur cocktail recipes, you will want to be the #1 trendsetter before anyone start hearing about them!

Even though coffee seems all too commonplace, an exquisite cup of coffee (hint: exclusive coffee beans like what CoffeeDog® uses) with the infusion of various types of alcohol can make the most mundane holiday routine into an explosion of excitement! INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 oz Frangelico Liqueur
  • 1 oz cold espresso or coffee
  • 1 oz Hazelnut Coffee Syrup
  • 4 oz vodka
  • 6 oz eggnog
  • Nutmeg for garnish

PREPARATION:

  1. Combine Frangelico, coffee, the hazelnut coffee syrup and vodka in a pitcher or shaker with ice and stir or shake until cold.
  2. Pour into ice filled cocktail glasses and top with eggnog. Stir.
  3. Dust with nutmeg.

Roasted Marshmallow Coffee Cocktail Shakes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 package Seattle’s Best Coffee® Creamy Caramel Frozen Coffee Blend
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 3-4 ounces coffee liqueur
  • 14 large Marshmallows
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. Blend the milk and frozen coffee blend with coffee liqueur (add more or less to taste) until smooth.
  2. Divide shakes into two glasses.
  3. Arrange the marshmallows in a flower pattern on a heat-safe plate, with one marshmallow in the middle and 6 around the outside.
  4. With a heat gun or blow torch, brown or toast marshmallows, keeping them in the flower pattern (they will stick together.)
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 for the second glass.
  6. Gently pick up each marshmallow flower; place and press one on the top of each glass.
  7. Drizzle with caramel sauce, if desired.

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into a Martini glass.
  3. Float an espresso-roast coffee bean on top of the drink.

Black Pearl Champagne Cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ounce Cognac
  • 1 ounce Coffee Liqueur
  • 3 ounces Brut Champagne
  • Maraschino Cherry

PREPARATION:

Place a maraschino cherry in the bottom of a champagne flute. Combine cognac and coffee liqueur in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well chilled. Strain into the champagne flute over the maraschino cherry. Top with chilled brut champagne.

Make this ahead of time in batch quantity with the following directions:

1 – 750ml Bottle Brut Champagne – chilled

Combine the following in a glass bottle with lid:

9 ounces Cognac
9 ounces Coffee Liqueur
4-1/2 ounces Distilled Water*

Refrigerate until well chilled and ready to serve. *Addition of distilled water takes the place of shaking individual servings with ice. This small amount of water compensates for the dilution factor or shaking with ice.

When ready to serve add the following to each glass:

1 Maraschino Cherry
2-1/2 ounces Cognac & Coffee Liqueur mixture
2-3/4 to 3 ounces Brut Champagne

Flaming B-52 Shot

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Coffee Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Grand Marnier Orange Flavored Brandy Liqueur
  • 3 drops Dark Overproof Rum

PREPARATION:

  1. Add coffee liqueur in shot glass and let it settle.
  2. Slowly and steadily pour Baileys Original Irish Cream on coffee liqueur with the help of back of bar spoon. (To make a perfect layer, make sure that bar spoon is cold and is positioned properly with back side pointing upwards over the serving glass.)
  3. Pour Grand Marnier over it in similar way.
  4. Slowly add 3 drops of dark rum and ignite it with lighter. (If Grand Marnier is warm then you may skip adding rum).
  5. Serve with heatproof straw.
Glassware: Shot Glass.
Safety Note: Flame must be put out before starting to drink the shot. The shot glass must be either heatproof or of thick glass. If your shot glass is of larger or smaller size then adjust the quantity of each ingredient (keeping ratio to 1 part each) such that its total volume is little smaller than capacity of glass. The idea here is to have minimum amount of glass surface coming in contact with heat so that glass does not crack or break.
