CoffeeDog® Apple Roses

Ingredients

  • 2 Apples
  • 1 Puff pastry
  • 3 Tablespoons peach preserves
  • 2 Tablespoons CoffeeDog® Original
  • Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Slice apples in half then core. Slice each half into ⅙“ moon shapes and place in a bowl of water with ½ the juice from a lemon. Microwave the apples for 5 minutes until they are soft and bendable. Dry apples and lay on a paper towel. Roll your puff pastry to measure 18” x 12”. Cut into 6 equal strips going across the dough. In a small bowl combine the preserves and CoffeeDog®.
  3.  Spray a muffin tin with non-stick spray. Take one strip of dough and spread 1-2 teaspoons up and down the center. Place the apple slices with the round side away from the dough 1” in. Overlap the slices. You will need 4-5 slices of apple for each piece of dough. Now sprinkle some cinnamon onto the center of the dough and fold over evenly to match the other side.
  4. Pat to seal the dough in place. Now, roll the dough up like a pinwheel and place dough side down in the muffin tin. You can use muffin cups too. After doing all six roses. Bake in pre-heated oven for 45 minutes or until the apples are golden and crispy on the edges.
  5. Serve with fruit or ice-cream.
